Scent Profile: The Art of Fresh
Why some fragrances make a home feel instantly lighter
There are fragrances that announce themselves the moment you walk into a room. And then there are those that simply make everything feel a little better. Fresher. Lighter. Calmer. That's what I love about fresh fragrance. It doesn't have to be sharp or overwhelmingly citrusy. Done well, it can feel like opening the windows on a beautiful morning and letting the outside in.
The power of fresh
Fresh fragrances have a wonderful way of connecting us to nature. Green leaves. Morning air. Herbs growing in the garden. That feeling of a clean, open space. They're uplifting without necessarily being energetic, and calming without feeling sleepy. For me, that's the beauty of them.

The balance of Leaf + Bud
Leaf + Bud is my take on this kind of freshness. Mint brings that lovely sense of crispness and clarity, while white tea softens everything beautifully. The result isn't clinical or overpowering. It's clean, gentle and quietly refreshing. It's the kind of fragrance that works in the background of everyday life — making a room feel lighter without demanding your attention.
Where fresh scents shine
Fresh fragrances are incredibly versatile. They work beautifully in kitchens and bathrooms, but I also love them in living spaces where you want that sense of openness and calm. And although we naturally reach for fresher fragrances during spring and summer, there's no reason they can't work throughout the year. Sometimes, in the middle of winter, what you really want is a little reminder of spring.

A little ritual
I've always thought fragrance should be part of how we care for our homes. Not something reserved for special occasions. Light a candle. Open a window. Take a breath.
Those small moments can change how a room feels — and sometimes, how we feel in it too.
That's really what I love about fragrance.
It doesn't have to shout.
Sometimes the most beautiful scents simply make everything feel a little better.

Bring a little freshness into your day
There are moments when a room simply needs to feel a little lighter.
A breath of fresh air. An open window. The scent of mint and white tea drifting through the room. Whether you light a candle, mist the room or let a reed diffuser quietly scent the space, fresh fragrance can completely change the atmosphere of your home.
For me, it’s about creating those little everyday moments that make a room — and sometimes the whole day — feel better.
Fresh, calm and quietly uplifting. Just as fragrance should be. 🌿
Frequently Asked Questions
What makes a fragrance feel “fresh”?
Fresh fragrances often combine crisp, green, herbal or lightly floral notes to create a feeling of cleanliness, airiness and openness. They don't necessarily need to be strongly citrusy.
What is Leaf + Bud?
Leaf + Bud is our fresh, gentle fragrance combining mint, white tea and green leaf. It's uplifting and refreshing, while remaining soft enough to use throughout the home.
Is a fresh fragrance only suitable for summer?
Not at all. While fresh fragrances naturally complement spring and summer, they can work beautifully all year round. Sometimes a little freshness is exactly what a home needs in the middle of winter.
Can fresh fragrance be calming as well as uplifting?
Absolutely. Fresh doesn't have to mean energising or intense. The softness of white tea alongside crisp mint creates a fragrance that feels both refreshing and calm.
Why do you call it “The Art of Fresh”?
Because creating a fresh fragrance isn't simply about making something smell clean. It's about finding the right balance — something that feels natural, uplifting and beautiful to live with, without overpowering the room.
