Our Story: A true labour of love

I get asked all the time at markets, "How did you get into this?" And the truth is, it wasn’t a business plan to start with—it was a personal mission.

I have always been someone who loves a beautiful home. I’m obsessed with how the right scent can mark the seasons, making a space feel truly lived-in and loved. But I hit a wall. My home was filled with every plug-in, spray, and shop-bought candle I could find, yet nothing felt right. It all smelled so artificial, so chemical-heavy. Then, I developed asthma, and it really hit home—I didn’t want to be breathing that in, and I certainly didn't want my young son or our dog exposed to it either.

I realised that if I wanted a home that smelled beautiful and safe, I would have to create it myself.

Finding the Perfect Formula

I dove into the world of chandlery, completing training in Australia and then spending a full year in my home, just experimenting. I was constantly chopping, changing, and testing—throwing away batches that weren't good enough, sourcing new supplies, and tweaking the blends until I finally found my formula.

I wanted it to be pure. I chose soy wax because it’s renewable and clean—no black marks up the walls, just a long, restorative, 45-to-50-hour burn that is honestly worth every penny. When I moved on to reed diffusers and room mists, I applied that same obsessive attention to detail. I searched for a natural, vegan-friendly base that wouldn't just evaporate in a week, and I sourced reeds designed to draw the scent up and disperse it evenly, so you can actually enjoy the fragrance without the hassle.

My Happy Place
Everything at Wax & Willow is hand-poured right here in my home on the UK south coast. When I’m working on a big order, the house basically becomes a scent factory! It’s a lot of work, but I love it.

I’ve always been someone who wears my heart on my sleeve, and my background in education and working with mental health taught me how powerful scent is. It’s a shortcut to our memories and a way to settle the mind. For me, my home is my happy place, and when I update the diffuser in my entrance hall each season, it’s a little ritual that grounds me.

The Seasonal Shift
I don’t follow trends; I prefer to create them. I limit my range to four scents per season because I want them to be perfect.

Spring is all about fresh blossoms and new beginnings.

Summer isn't about synthetic coconut; it’s about that feeling of an Italian terrace, a chilled glass of Pinot Grigio, and the warmth of the sun on your skin.

Autumn is for cosying down by the fire with something authentic and warming.

Winter is my ongoing creative project—I’m always searching for that perfect, atmospheric scent that captures the true magic of the season.

I do everything myself—from designing the logo to the final pour. Because it’s all made by hand in my home, you might occasionally spot a label that’s a tiny bit off-centre. That’s just the sign of something made with real human care, not a machine.

I hope you can trust my products as much as I trust them for my own family. Thank you for joining me on this journey and letting me help you turn your home into your own happy place.
